At Healing Indulgence, we offer sound healing, yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Reiki as complementary wellness experiences — spaces to rest, restore, and reconnect. We want you to feel safe, informed, and well cared for before, during, and after every session.

Please take a moment to read this page. It exists not to create distance between us and you, but to help you make an informed choice about whether our offerings are right for you right now.

Not a Substitute for Medical Advice

The services offered by Healing Indulgence — including sound baths, yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Reiki — are complementary wellness practices. They are not medical treatments, and they are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Nothing on this website, or communicated by Healing Indulgence in any format, should be interpreted as medical advice or as a claim that our services will treat, cure, or prevent any physical or mental health condition.

If you have a health condition of any kind, we warmly encourage you to speak with your doctor or healthcare provider before attending a session.

Sound Healing

Our sound baths use frosted quartz crystal singing bowls, Koshi chimes, rain stick, and tinga to create an immersive sonic environment. Most people find this deeply relaxing and restorative. However, we ask that you let us know before attending if any of the following apply to you:

  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders — rhythmic sound and altered states of awareness may not be suitable
  • Tinnitus or sound sensitivity — please let us know so we can position you comfortably and adjust volume where possible
  • Pacemakers or implanted medical devices — please consult your specialist before attending
  • Pregnancy — particularly in the first trimester; please consult your midwife or obstetrician first
  • Recent surgery or acute injury — lying still for extended periods may not be appropriate
  • Active mental health crisis — deeply altered or meditative states are not recommended during periods of acute psychological distress

If you are unsure whether a sound bath is right for you, please reach out to us before booking — we are always happy to have that conversation.

Yoga

Yoga involves physical movement and posture. Participants engage at their own pace and at their own risk. You know your body best — please honour its limits during class.

We ask that you inform Penelope of any injuries, physical limitations, or health conditions before class begins so she can offer appropriate modifications. If you have a recent or ongoing injury, or have been advised by a medical professional to avoid physical activity, please seek clearance before attending.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a guided practice that leads the body and mind into a deeply relaxed, sleep-like state. It is generally considered safe and beneficial for most people. However, it is not recommended for those currently experiencing:

  • Active psychosis or severe dissociative conditions
  • Acute post-traumatic stress where relaxation practices have previously caused distress

If you are currently working with a mental health professional, we recommend discussing Yoga Nidra with them before attending. As always, you are free to gently withdraw from the practice at any time.

Reiki

Reiki is an energy-based complementary practice performed strictly hands-off — no physical touch is involved at any point. It is generally suitable for most people. Reiki is not a medical treatment, does not constitute a diagnosis, and should not replace conventional medical or psychological care.

Your Responsibility

By booking or attending a Healing Indulgence session, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer, that you take personal responsibility for your participation, and that you will inform us of any health conditions or concerns that may be relevant to your safety and experience.

We reserve the right to respectfully decline participation to anyone where we have genuine concern for their wellbeing.

Questions

If anything on this page raises a question for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We would much rather have a conversation than have you attend with uncertainty.
